IPv6 & WebUI Access

IPv6 & WebUI Access

How do I access the UI for my unit?

The User Interface for BirdDog units is web based, which means that no software download is needed, and the UI can be accessed via your web browser.

There are a couple of methods for accessing the WebUI on our units, which have been outlined below:

  1. All units can be accessed by entering the unit's IP into your Google Chrome search bar – this will pull up the WebUI in your browser.

  1. Cameras and encoders specifically can be accessed via Studio Monitor, which is a part of the NDI Tools software suite (which can be downloaded here: https://www.ndi.tv/tools/).

After downloading, open Studio Monitor and right click to find your unit as a source. Once you have the feed of the unit pulled up, you can click the gear in the bottom right hand corner to access the WebUI for this unit.

For P-Series cameras and convertors, if you are having difficulty accessing the WebUI through either of the above methods, it may be helpful to try IPv6. This should help you to find the IP address and recover the WebUI for this unit. I've linked instructions to this process here: Recovering a BirdDog Unit w/ IPv6

For X-Series cameras, you can try the following recovery methods: X1 & X1 Ultra Recovery

To ensure proper functionality, it will also be important to adhere to our networking guidelines, which can be found here: NDI Networking 101
