X-Series Decoding

X-Series Decoding

How to Decode with your X1, X1 Ultra, and X5 Ultra

The X1, X1 Ultra, and X5 Ultra are manufactured with a built-in decoder,* which can decode NDI|HX2 and NDI|HX3 sources on your network. In order for this feature to work properly, a few settings need to be in place on your camera:

  1. The video format of your source must match the encode video format
For example, 1080p encode means the unit will only decode 1080p. These video formats cannot be mismatched.

  2. Your source should be outputting either HX2 or HX3
Other NDI formats are not compatible.

  3. "Decode mode" must be selected in the WebUI in the A/V tab

The above settings are necessary for decoding HX2 and HX3 sources using your X1, X1 Ultra, or X5 Ultra.

*This feature is not available on the X4.
