Software Not Working as Expected? (Best Practices)
Is your BirdDog software not showing your BirdDog devices, or not working as expected? These are a few of our best practices to ensure our software is working as expected.
- The user profile must be full admin and cannot have any restrictions permissions of any kind. If this profile was privately assigned based on a corporate or private network, it likely has permissions tied to it that will prevent the software from working as expected.
- Windows Firewall/Defender must both be turned off completely.
- Antivirus programs will sometimes view the software as a threat. Ensure it does not prevent it from opening by checking to see if it is processing it as a potential problem.
- If you're on a private network, you may need to contact your IT department to see if there is something in the network setup that is preventing the program from properly functioning as it is sharing network data.
- We have found "Right-Clicking" to "Run as Admin" to be very effective in situations like this.
