Requirements for Accessing OG4 – “Why Can’t I Access the WebUI?”
If you are having trouble accessing your OG4 out of the box, there are a few things you can check:
The OpenGear Chassis must have a network card with a model number of "OG3-N" or "OG3-NS". Any other network card is not compatible with our OG4 card.
If you are looking into using an SFP+ module, we have tested and verified the following product: 10GTek XS85-192-M3. Other modules may work, but BirdDog only tests with the aforementioned module, and cannot guarantee success with any other SFP+ modules.
The OG4 comes out of the box in SFP+ mode by default. This means you must use an SFP+ module that is a 10GB model. RJ45, 1GB SFP, and copper modules will not work.
If the above are in place and you are still experiencing trouble accessing the WebUI for your OG4, you can try running IPv6. This may help you to find the IP address and recover the WebUI for this unit. You can find instructions for this process here: Recovering a BirdDog Unit w/ IPv6
