X4 - Firmware Update Instructions

What you will need

1 x BirdDog X4U_FW  update.img file from Step 1 folder

1 x BirdDog WIFI_FW  update.img file from Step 2 folder
1 x BirdDog X4 camera


Procedure

Step 1

System Firmware Update
This update is a one step process performed from the BirdUI.


1. Download the firmware file from the BirdDog website and unzip.

2. Log into the camera BirdUI. The default password is ‘birddog’.

3. Navigate to the SYSTEM/SYSTEM UPDATE section.

4. Click the CHOOSE FILE button, navigate to the downloaded firmware folder, select the contained file and click the UPLOAD button.



NOTE: This process will take up to 5 minutes and will require the camera to reboot. DO NOT power off the unit while this process completes.

5. After the process reports as complete, allow 2 minutes for the camera to reboot and then refresh your browser.

6. Confirm the update by viewing the Dashboard/System Details/Firmware Version in the BirdUI. Check that the version number is correct for this release.

Step 2

Wifi Module Update
This update is a one step process performed from the BirdUI.


1. Go to step 2 file of the update download, and make sure it is also unzipped

2. Log into the camera BirdUI. The default password is ‘birddog’.

3. Navigate to the SYSTEM/SYSTEM UPDATE section.

4. Click the CHOOSE FILE button, navigate to the downloaded firmware folder, select the contained file and click the UPLOAD button.



NOTE: This process will take up to 5 minutes and will require the camera to reboot. DO NOT power off the unit while this process completes.

5. After the process reports as complete, allow 2 minutes for the camera to reboot and then refresh your browser.

6. Confirm the update by viewing the Dashboard/System Details/Firmware Version in the BirdUI. Check that the version number is correct for this release.
