BirdDog X1 / X1 Ultra Firmware Release Notes

Firmware 2.4.050 

Important note - please power cycle your camera BEFORE applying this firmware update, and again after applying the update. 

This release includes the following fixes:
  1. Fixed an issue where high-precision control with NDI Studio Monitor was non-functional.
  2. Resolved an issue preventing the OSD menu from opening via VISCA control.
  3. Fixed an issue where 'Image Settings Reset' would cause the camera to reboot.
  4. Fixed a crash in the API server when multiple calls were sent simultaneously.
  5. Corrected an issue where the image would display a purple tint when the white balance was set to 'Indoor' or 'Outdoor' and saved to a preset.
  6. Updated the UVC camera name to "BirdDog UVC Camera."
  7. Fixed an issue where audio gain values were displayed as integers instead of in dB.
  8. Corrected an issue where 'Shutter Speed' values displayed incorrectly in the 'Exposure' menu.
  9. Fixed an issue where presets saved to 'CAMERA' were not recalled correctly.
  10. Resolved an issue where presets were not recalled properly from the IR remote or NDI Studio Monitor.
  11. Fixed an issue where zoom speed was not controlled by the 'Preset Speed' setting.
  12. Fixed an issue where the 'Latency' slider in the 'Secondary Encoder' menu would not update.

New Features and Improvements:
  1. Added a 'Preset Speed' control setting to the OSD.
  2. Added a requirement to change the default BirdUI password upon initial login.
  3. Improved the Auto Focus algorithms for enhanced performance.


Firmware 2.4.043

This release contains the following features and fixes:

  1. Added new 'Privacy Mode' function where camera goes to sleep position (lens pointing down) if not in use by UVC (WebCam) or NDI application, after 10s the camera will automatically sleep if enabled (A36Q-I100)
  2. Fixed various WebUI/Control reporting alignment (A36Q-I65)
  3. Tally behavior (On/Off/Sleep state) now persistent after reboot (A36Q-I66)
  4. Manual Focus now achievable over VISCA-IP control (A36Q-I87)
  5. Image quality improvements particularly around Chromatic Aberration and Detail handling (CAC) (A36Q-I89)
  6. Caught issue if incorrect firmware is attempted to be loaded on camera (A36Q-I92)
  7. Responds correctly to unsupported VISCA-IP commands (A36Q-I98)
  8. New background to WebUI (A36Q-I107)
  9. Overall WebUI performance improvement (A36Q-I97)
  10. Improvements in AI tracking model (A36Q-I55)

Firmware 2.4.037

This release contains the following features and fixes:

  1. HDMI Output format now selects specified resolutions (A36Q-I85)
  2. Manual White Balance values now scale from 0-255 instead of 0-100 (A36Q-I84)
  3. Stability improvements in NDI ® | HX Decoder (A36Q-I78)
  4. VISCA compatibility with both Standard and Super Fine modes (A36Q-I75)
  5. Recalling the same preset repeatedly sometimes made the image go out of focus (A36Q-I71)
  6. MacOS Safari sometimes showed default rather than actual values in WebUI (A36Q-I69)
  7. When zooming in Manual focus the result would be blurred (A36Q-I68)
  8. Enhanced compatibility with Web Cam (UVC) applications (A36Q-I64)
  9. NDI Finder list would not update in encode mode (A36Q-I61)
  10. Changed sensor mode when operating in 50p/25p (A36Q-I54)
  11. Added full exposure and colour controls to Tricaster native controls (A36Q-I48)
  12. Added DNS field to WiFi configurations (A36Q-I46)
  13. Camera would ‘hunt’ for focus while panning (A36Q-I32)
  14. RTMP could not be received on a local network with VLC player (A36Q-I32)

  7. On some network infrastructure the automatic (DHCP) address would not be released (A36Q-I50) (A36Q-I49)
  8. Tally now supports standby mode of white/no light (A36Q-I45)
  9. Corrected gain slider range in Manual Exposure mode (A36Q-I42)
  10. Fixed WebUI feedback on secondary video stream settings (A36Q-I26)
  11. Speed control of Preset recall is now enabled (A36Q-I41)
  12. Video Encoder Preset modes fine tuned for LOW/MED/HIGH/ULTRA (NDI® | HX3) settings (A36Q-I25)
  13. "PTZ Only" and "Camera" Presets can now be recalled in Studio Monitor (A36Q-I30)
  14. Fixed occasional wrong Web address (URL) when accessing the WebUI from Studio Monitor (A36Q-I23)

Firmware 2.4.021

This release contains the following features and fixes:
  1. Added WiFi DNS option in network configuration
  2. Improved DHCP network IP address handling
  3. Improved Image Quality (IQ) tuning resulting in significantly improved image quality
  4. Added Dynamic PTZ movements resulting is smoother, fine tuned control when the camera is zoomed in

Firmware 2.4.016

This release contains the following features and fixes:
  1. Added support for ‘One-Push’ white balance
  2. Improved WiFi connectivity reporting.
  3. Adjusted default image settings for higher quality.
  4. Performance improvements for NDI® | HX 2/3 decoding.

Note: 
After the update, reset the camera image settings by clicking the Reset button in the Cam Control tab of the BirdUI.
WiFi settings are not retained in this update, you will need to reconfigure WiFi settings after updating your camera.

Firmware 2.4.012

This release contains the following features and fixes:
  1. Improved performance of PTZ control over NDI.
  2. Improved performance of AI Tracking. 
  3. Fixed random changes in Focus mode (Auto/Manual).
  4. Fixed the issue of saving incorrect URLs to the Device Webpage in NDI Metadata.C
