Updating Firmware for BirdDog Studio NDI


Updating firmware on BirdDog Studio NDI is simple and fast, please follow the following steps to update your device.


1) Log onto the web interface of your BirdDog Studio NDI. To access the web interface of Studio NDI, open your favourite web browser on a Mac or Windows computer (please note that a Windows computer will need to have either NDI tools from NewTek installed  or Apple Bonjour services installed - https://www.newtek.com/ndi/tools/).


In your web browser, enter the following URL where the 5 digits denoted by the ‘x’ are replaced with your Studio NDI serial number :


http://birddog-xxxxx.local/


The 5 digits denoted by the ‘x’ are replaced with your Studio NDI serial number, for example if your serial number is e7004 then enter:


http://birddog-e7004.local/ 


(note this is case sensitive and should be lower case)


To log into the web interface of Studio NDI, use the following default password "birddog". This will take you to the dashboard of the Studio NDI. 


BirdDog Finder 

Alternatively, use the BirdDog Finder Windows application to locate your BirdDog on the network and open up its Management console.


There are two prerequisites for this application :


MS Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable

Bonjour Services

2) Go to http://www.bird-dog.tv/features/firmware-updates/ and download the latest Firmware version for your device. Be sure to match the correct Revision number with your device (if applicable). 


3) Proceed to the settings section of the WebUI and select ‘Choose file…’, locate the update file you downloaded in step 2 (ending in .fw).


4) Press ‘Update’ and wait for the dialogue to complete and report ‘Please power cycle device…’


Important: Once the update procedure is complete it will report ‘please power cycle your device’, remove all power sources from Studio NDI and re-power after 5 seconds.


Your firmware update is now complete.
